We are a new church in the Flagstaff area, but our roots here run deep. For 50 years, this community was served faithfully by Greenlaw Baptist Church. When that season changed, NPHX stepped in to help the campus find its footing and provide support for a new beginning. Now, we are stepping into a bold new chapter as we launch Ember Church.
A single ember may seem small, but it is a concentrated source of heat. In the right conditions, an ember doesn't just stay warm. It ignites everything it touches.
We believe God often starts His greatest movements with a small group of people who are fully surrendered and on fire for Him. We aren't interested in just being a light that people look at. We want to be the sparks that ignite a movement of hope, grace, and transformation across Flagstaff and beyond.
Persistent. Even after a flame dies down, the ember remains hot. It represents a faith that lasts beyond a Sunday morning, a deep, glowing commitment to Jesus that stays warm in the real world.
Communitarian. One ember on its own eventually grows cold. But pile embers together and they stay hot and grow more intense. Life is better together, and our heat comes from our community in Christ.
Missional. An ember's purpose is to ignite something else. We live sent, taking the heat of the Gospel into our workplaces, our neighborhoods, and our community to spark new life in others.
Our prayer is that Ember Church would be a place where the fire of God's Word meets the fuel of a hungry city.
There's a unique appeal to Flagstaff. Between the towering pines, mountain peaks, and endless adventures, it feels like the perfect place for a fresh start. Yet behind the beauty, there are real challenges and real hurts. Many come here chasing dreams, only to find themselves feeling empty.
We believe that's not the end of your story.
We are broken people who found a perfect Savior, and we want to help others find that same life in Christ. The adventure, freedom, and purpose people are searching for in these mountains are truly found through a relationship with Jesus. Wherever you are on your spiritual journey, we want to help you take your next best step toward Him, toward meaningful community, and toward your unique purpose.
We follow Jesus not because He makes life better, but because He is better than life itself.
